Com. Ayuba Declares Ibarapa East Chairmanship Ambition, Gains Strong PDP Backing
A chairmanship aspirant in Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo State, Comrade Ayuba Ayandele, has formally declared his intention to contest under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), receiving what observers described as overwhelming support from party leaders and grassroots stakeholders.
The declaration took place at the PDP Local Government Party office in Sango, Eruwa, where party executives, loyalists, and supporters gathered in large numbers for the event.
The aspirant presented his letter of intent before the party leadership, marking the official commencement of his campaign for the Executive Chairman position.
Leading the reception, the PDP Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Aderibigbe, welcomed Com. Ayuba Ayandele and commended the orderly and consultative approach he adopted in declaring his ambition.
He emphasized the need for unity, discipline, and inclusiveness within the party, noting that these values remain critical to sustaining PDP’s dominance at the grassroots level.
During the engagement, Com. Ayuba unveiled a comprehensive development blueprint aimed at transforming Ibarapa East through targeted interventions in youth and women empowerment, infrastructure development, education, agriculture, and healthcare delivery across all wards of the local government.
He stressed that his vision is rooted in practical governance and measurable impact across communities.
Party officials who spoke at the event expressed confidence in the Com Ayuba’s capacity and character.
The PDP Public Relations Officer, Surajudeen Olaosegba, alongside an ex-officio member, Adebowale, described him as a committed party man whose track record and personal values align with the Yoruba ethos of “Omoluabi.”
They noted that his long-standing involvement in party activities and community engagement positions him as a credible contender for the chairmanship seat.
The event also witnessed the presence of notable supporters and political figures, including Ololade Elebekan, Ojelowo Kayode, Iya Chicago, and Muritala Major, among others, who openly pledged their support and solidarity, describing the declaration as a step in the right direction for the local government.
They described Comrade Ayuba Ayandele as a well-prepared and credible aspirant, noting that he remains the only contender who has formally submitted a letter of intent, while others have merely made verbal declarations.
Speaking after the declaration, Com. Ayuba expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed his readiness to serve with dedication and a people-focused leadership style.
He stressed that his ambition is driven by a desire to deliver tangible development and inclusive governance to the people of Ibarapa East, adding that collective effort and unity would be key to achieving the desired transformation.
