Makinde Apologizes Over Ido/Eruwa Road Delay, Promises Completion Within 11Months
The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has issued a heartfelt apology to residents of Eruwaland over the protracted delay in the reconstruction of the Ido/Eruwa Road, pledging that the long awaited project will be completed within the next 11 months to high engineering standards.
Speaking at the coronation ceremony of Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola as the new Eleruwa of Eruwaland, Governor Makinde did not hold back his disappointment at the road’s current condition, revealing that it took him over two hours to travel the route which ordinarily should be a 45min journey.
"I sincerely apologize for the slow pace of work on the Ido/Eruwa road. Today, it took me nearly two hours to reach here. That is totally unacceptable,” the Governor admitted during his address to a large and expectant audience that included traditional rulers, political leaders, and dignitaries.
Governor Makinde assured the people of Eruwaland that the road would not only be completed but executed to a durable, standard quality.
He emphasized that proper measures had been set in place to fast-track the construction work.
"We will ensure that the road is as standard as the other quality roads we have constructed by our administration. The road is important to us hence we will not compromise on quality work."
Also in attendance were the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, members of the Oyo State Executive Council, lawmakers, and traditional leaders from across Yorubaland.
